A shipwreck in Malibu was finally destroyed by high tide & powerful waves... using wiring from the tattered vessel, I strapped more than 70 lbs of scrap wood from the broken-up boat onto my SUP, paddled across a bay, then with a friend, we carried the board lashed with scrapwood, up a long stairway & path to reclaim these unique pieces. The deck & odd interior pieces were used to build a shoe rack / bench, a heater cover / side table, a sofa bed with integrated lighting, shelving, cantilevered desk, massage board & organized hidden storage. The wood was all stripped of it's screws, filled / joined with hardwood dowel, planed, sanded, then treated with a layer of SuperSap bioresin epoxy, giving the wood a glossy, hard, waterproof surface.
